During a festival night, a woman was tragically murdered, leading the villagers to interpret it as a divine curse—a punishment for attempting to wield the power of their god. Fast forward to December 1957, nearly two years after Toko Kuchiki’s abduction from her hospital room. Following the loss of his fiancée during a case, he resigned from the police force to confront his past as a solitary PI. Presently residing with his sister Yukari, Reiji continues his quest to locate a girl who vanished while connected to his investigation of the Girl in Shell case.
