To access the content beyond the upper atmosphere in Stormworks, the Space expansion pack is required. In this expansion, players can embark on a continuous simulation journey starting from Earth, ascending through the atmosphere, traversing the vacuum of space, and finally landing on the moon’s surface. Space is portrayed as an infinite expanse of nothingness, while the lunar landscape spans an impressive 900 square kilometers, featuring grey dust, craters, canyons, and caves. As you ascend to higher altitudes, the atmosphere will gradually thin out, and gravity will weaken. By increasing speed, you can achieve low orbit or ascend even higher to reach geostationary orbit. Experience the thrill of propelling through space using the new liquid fuel engines, which are powered by compressed oxygen and hydrogen produced through electrolysis.

These engines offer thrust vectoring capabilities through gimbal controls. For precise maneuvering, utilize RCS thrusters and reaction wheels. Navigating in space where GPS coverage is unavailable becomes possible with the introduction of new navigation components that aid in orientation and positioning. Additionally, the expansion introduces new seats that can be used to assemble a spacewalk kit. Communication across vast distances in space is made feasible through directional dish antennas.
