The once-mighty Empire lies in ruins, and it falls upon the Great Architect to painstakingly reconstruct it to its former grandeur, brick by brick. Traverse the land, engage in randomized, roguelite-style expeditions, and establish new cities utilizing a novel card-based building mechanism intertwined with a complex resource economy. Reconstructing an Empire is not about wielding military might or engaging in cunning politics, but rather about the meticulous construction of structures. Erect towering cities through a card-based approach. Select five decks each turn, then strategically play the cards to construct upwards. Effectively manage resources such as food, water, bricks, wood, stone, and metal, all essential for facilitating the city’s expansion and introducing new cards.

As the Great Architect, your duty is to revitalize the Empire, one edifice and one region at a time. Embark on grand expeditions to establish new cities in honor of the Emperor and confront the unique challenges presented by each region: hazardous terrain, scarcity of resources, and limited building space. Assume responsibility for every decision and card played, as all structures are permanent with no opportunities for revision. Strategize around and harmonize with the residences and workshops of imperial citizens. Generate increased taxes, resources, and uphold loyalty to the Empire – perhaps even garnering assistance from the locals in combating the malevolent force lurking amidst the ruins.
